Rotary Club of Kirksville - Thousand Hills
November 08, 2018
PROGRAM - Marilyn Romine; Club Foundation Chair

Marilyn talked to us about The Rotary Foundation (TRF). She explained the differences between the annual fund and the endowed fund. The annual fund is the primary source of funding for a broad range of local and international activities. Every Rotarian is encouraged to give to the annual fund every year.  The endowment is what was previously known as the permanent fund.  Donations to the endowment are invested in perpetuity and only the income from its interest is used for activities supported by TRF. Marilyn talked us through how to check one's giving to the foundation at www.rotary.org. You have to sign in with your MyRotary Account and go to the Donor History Reports section of the website. From there you can see your giving history - including how close you are to being able to earn or give a Paul Harris Fellow. Through the end of this year, the District is matching points from donations to Paul Harris completion so if you want to finish up a fellow before the end of the year this is a great time to do it. For more information contact Marilyn.

Ernie grew up on a farm in Shelby County and at 5 years old was driving a tractor with a rotary hoe all by himself.
