Rotary Club of Kirksville-Thousand Hills
20 February 2020
Program: Take Root Cafe;
Jessica Parks

Jessica Said our club was the first group she talked to about Take Root, nearly five years ago. The idea behind the café is to have a nice place for people to eat and “pay what you can”. She said it might seem crazy, but it is working – because, among other things, Kirksville is a service oriented community.
She also talked about the greater mission of Take Root, which includes education, more efficient use of food resources, more use of locally produced resources, and health/food problems. The mission is to alleviate hunger and promote health, and also to encourage use of sustainable and local food.
