13 JUNE 2019
Program: NEMO Fair;
Marilyn Blickhan

Marilyn works with Jim B. at NRMC and is also on the NEMO Fair board. She has been a part of the fair for 18 years and on the board for 13. She talked about the fair and the amount of people it brings to the community, and the economic boost we see from it each year. Marilyn said that about 14,000 people will come to the fair in total.  Many come from our local region but many also come for out of state and much further away in Missouri. Often times the entertainment draws people to the fair, but there are numerous other reasons to come. Some things that people may not be aware of that are happening are square dancing, horse shows, cowboy church, queen contest, and each year there is an  opening ceremony that is interesting to watch. Many events are free and open to the public. This year the fair is from 13-20 July. They are looking for volunteers to take tickets at the gates.  If anyone is interested let Jim B. know and he can get you in touch with Marilyn.
