PROGRAM: The Rotary Foundation; 
Marilyn Romine
November is Rotary Foundation month.  Marilyn Romine talked to the club about the Rotary Foundation today to help us better understand where our charitable giving goes, and where our grant money comes from.  The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary International and it is comprised of three funds: the Annual Fund, the Polio Plus Fund, and the Endowment Fund.  The Annual Fund is the one where gifts come back to the district, in part, in the form of district grants. What does not come back to the district gets spread out throughout Rotary International to support global grants. The Polio Plus Fund is specifically designated to fund the eradication of polio throughout the world. The Endowment Fund is a permanent fund of which only a percentage of the proceeds get used.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
December 14th is our day for Salvation Army Bell Ringing.  Sign up sheet will be available next week.  Please check your availability and sign up if you have the time.  We hope to get enough people signed up this year to do one hour shifts and not two hours. 
 
The three clubs in town received the grant to build the natural playground at FLATS trail head.  We will need lots of volunteers to help so be looking for the call.  There will be a media announcement, on site, at 1:30PM on 13NOV.  Joins us there if you can. 
 
Our club received a lot of recognition at the Foundation Dinner, including the Star Club distinction for 2018-19. Below is our 2018-19 Club President Christine Steele with some of the awards we were presented.
 
Blessing Bowl: Courtney Bonnell - $5. Courtney said that her aunt is taking the whole family to Costa Rica next year.
This morning we were joined by our guest, Bob Collenge.
 
November 8th:    CVA Showcase at Newman Center.  Social starts at 5PM and dinner will be served at 6.
November 11th:   Rotary Leadership Institute Part Two will be in Kirskville from 5:45 - 8:45 on the 11th
                                and 21st.
November 14th:  Regular Club meeting.  Steve P. and Doug N. will greet us and Andrea O. will lead us in
                                prayer.
November 21st:   Regular Club meeting.  Jaren H. and Chanda C. will greet us and Rick S. will lead us in
                                prayer.
November 21st:   Rotary Leadership Institute Part Two (Second Session).
November 26th:  Joint Service Luncheon.
November 28th:  Thanksgiving - No meeting.
December 12th:   Christmas breakfast gathering at Jon Peck's house.
December 13th:   Foster Kids Christmas.  Time and location announcement will be coming soon.  
December 14th:   Salvation Army Bell Ringing day for our club.
 
APRIL 18th, 2020 - REVERSE RAFFLE!
 
June 30-July 2nd:    Burgundy Brigade Reunion.  Details about this event will be forthcoming.

DAFFY DOLLARS:
 
Jon P. put in a dollar for youth hunting season, and Austin’s deer, and for foundation dinner last Saturday. Pat K. and Christine S. put in for a good day. Shirley B. put in for the program and said they had a good time at the foundation dinner. Doug N. said he is happy his daughters are home for a visit. Wally T. put in for the Chiefs. Larry B. said his granddaughter recently had her first birthday, and he and his wife just celebrated their 25th anniversary. Marilyn R. said she is proud of our club. Andrea O. has been traveling from Alaska to Baltimore and happy to be home. Janet G. is happy she got to see her youngest daughter recently. Bob C. is happy to call our club his home away from home.  Elsie G. put in for deer hunters and the AT Still show tonight. Dawood said it’s getting easier for him to get up and come in the mornings. Linette P. put in for a good day. Zach S. said he had a great weekend hunting with his kids on the farm. Linda B. said her Mom has been staying with her and she is starting to feel better. Chanda C. asked for prayers for her Mom who will be undergoing surgery before Thanksgiving. Matt W. put in for KHS soccer and volleyball. Joe N. put in for the AT Still show tonight. Steve P. put in for all the successes the high school teams and organizations are having. Jeff A. shared a nice story about evolution and family. Rick S. put in for a good day. Courtney B. said the Show Me State games are this weekend and her kids are playing soccer. Jaren H. had a good birthday yesterday. Terry C. put in for Jaren’s hard work at CVA, for Doug N. joining the staff at CVA, and for the CVA showcase event tomorrow evening. Jim B. is a new Grandpa again, as of Sunday.
